How to Use Your Medescan Warm Steam Vaporiser
Preparation: Always ensure the vaporiser is unplugged when setting it up. Remove the Warm Mist Control Unit by turning it to the unlocked symbol and lifting it out of the water tank.
Filling the Water Tank: Rinse and empty the water tank before each use. Fill the tank with cool tap water up to the “MAX FILL” line. If desired, add essential oils directly to the water tank. Reinsert the Warm Mist Control Unit into the tank and lock it into place.
Placement: Place the vaporiser on a flat, secure surface, ideally covered with a waterproof mat to avoid damage. Ensure the unit is positioned away from children and not near heating devices or heavy traffic areas.
Operation: Connect the power cord to a 220VAC outlet, ensuring your hands are dry. Turn on the vaporiser by sliding the switch to the “On” position, indicated by the RED light. Steam production will start approximately 10 minutes after the unit is turned on.
Using Red Light Therapy (Optional): Activate the Red Light Therapy feature by pressing the corresponding ON/OFF button to aid in restful sleep.
Shutting Down: Turn the vaporiser off by pushing the switch to the “Off” position when not in use. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before handling or moving.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Routine Cleaning: Unplug the vaporiser. Remove the Warm Mist Control Unit and clean any mineral deposits from the water inlet using a wooden toothpick (avoid metal objects). Thoroughly clean and dry the unit after each use to prevent bacteria growth and eliminate odours.
Long-Term Maintenance: Regularly check for any build-up of mineral deposits and clean as necessary. Ensure all parts are dry and clean before storing the vaporiser.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you notice spitting water or low steam output, ensure the water level is below the “MAX FILL” line and that the unit is properly plugged in and switched on. For areas with hard water, you may need to add a pinch of salt to enhance steam production.
